Overall Personality:
Loyal; Nee’lahn swore an oath to her parents, the crown and her Kingdom when she came of age and it is the one thing that still binds her to her parents will. Her loyalty leads to a lot of inner conflict but she forces herself to endure it as she knows what will happen if she breaks her oath.
Honest; If she has an opinion she will voice it, much to the annoyance of her parents as her views usually conflict with theirs. If she is asked a question she will always answer in the most honest way possible, no matter who it is asking her.
Honourable; Never will she allow an unarmed man or woman be harmed, she will never allow a child to be harmed (even if they are members of the opposite army). Whenever she can she tries to avoid bloodshed but always shows mercy.
Merciful; Despite her long life and numerous battles Nee’lahn has never taken a life, she’s knocked out opponents, wounded them but has never killed them. One day she will be Queen and if she is ever to undo the damage her parents have caused them she must show them now that she is different.
Gentle: Though this is a side very few are allowed to witness she is actually quite a gentle soul, the only people she has ever allowed to see this side of her is Millenia, Alucard and her dog, Behemoth. Who knows, maybe now that she is free of her parents watchful gave more people might see it.
Complex; How her allies and how her enemies see her are too very different things, while her allies see her as a strict General that you don’t want to get on the wrong side of and a wise leader her enemies see her as a merciful General that avoids bloodshed but is still not someone to be messed with.
Iron Willed; When she sets her mind to something she does, it is as simple as that, even when her parents disagree.

History:
Before the birth of Nee’lahn her world was a relatively peaceful one, the people of Arcadia had enjoyed centuries of peace but all of that would fall apart but a few years after the birth of the Princess of Shadowfell. The peace was shattered on the Princess’s third birthday when she was presented with a rare flower by the prince of a neighbouring Kingdom, her parents weren’t happy with this gift and insulted the King and Queen for giving such as insignificant gift to the princess of a greater Kingdom. Who would have thought that such an innocent thing would start a war. The insulted King and Queen could not see such an insult be ignored and sent an agent to the Court of Aleera and Alistair.
Their agent, Claudette, became the tutor of Nee’lahn, she was taught many languages, the songs of their faith, politics, all the rituals she would perform as a princess but all the while Claudette was gathering information for her true King and Queen and plotting the betrayal that would spell the end for her Kingdom. In what seemed like no time at all the Princess was 21, as she prepared for her oath ceremony and her crowning as Heir Apparent she felt the cold bite of steel as a knife was stabbed into her side.
For insulting their son Claudette’s King and Queen had decided that Aleera and Alistair would lose their daughter. As Nee’lahn looked up at her attacker she was shocked to see that it was Claudette, her closest friend, that had betrayed her. As she lay on the ground, bleeding and in a lot of pain, she called out to the guards, she couldn’t allow Claudette to escape. The guards burst into her room and all but one followed her command to capture Claudette. The one that stayed was Alucard, he picked her up and took her to the healers, saving her life.
For disobeying the order of the Princess he should have been dismissed from duty but Nee’lahn had other ideas, she made him her official Guard, from that day on the two have never been apart. But while the Princess had been saved all was not well. Claudette was executed for her crimes but not before revealing who had sent her.
That information started the first of the Arcadian Wars.
Nee’lahn was sent to oversee the battles so that she could learn the arts of war first hand. When the Shadowfell army laid siege to the capital Nee’lahn took to the battlefield, she was to represent the royal family in claiming the city, it was something that she took no pride in. As she stepped into the palace, with Alucard at her side, she witnessed the capture of the Prince and his mother who was hysterical. When she saw how they were being treated by the soldiers she ordered them to back off, they were royals and she would see them treated as such. It was then that she learnt the King had been murdered.
Right there and then she drew the Kitana she’d been given by her father, stabbing it into the marble floor of the palace. ‘Here and now, as Princess of Shadowfell I command the murdered of the King to stand forward so that judgement may be passed upon him!’ All the soldiers present looked upon her in shock, Nee’lahn had always been quiet and refined but now she terrified them. Slowly but surely two men stepped forward, their swords still stained with the blood of the King, she forced them to kneel before her as she drew her sword from the ground. ‘You’ve disobeyed the orders of your King and Queen, no-one was to harm the royal family and by your hands the King was killed. Alucard, what is the punishment for such things?’
Her guard looked at her and responded with a single word. ‘Death.’ She turned to the Prince and handed him her sword. ‘They have wronged you and you shall now decide their fate.’ The Prince raised the sword as if to strike her down but his mother grabbed his hand, she knew that if the princess was harmed then they would die. He slowly lowered the sword and handed it back to her. With the sword back in her hand she turned to the two soldiers. ‘Put them in shackles and let my parents deal with them. The Queen and Prince will travel with me.’
When they arrived back in the capital City of Shadowfell the King and Queen passed judgement on the royals, the Prince was held as a hostage and the Queen was made a handmaiden of the Queen and their Kingdom became part of Shadowfell. Everyone thought that it would end their but this was not the case. Aleera and Alistair became obsessed with power and started working on plans to take over the other Kingdoms.
As Nee’lahn turned 24 the High Knight died and a great tournament was held to find his replacement, in secret the Princess had been training and in secret she entered the tournament. To say that it came as a shock when their champion was revealed to be the Princess was a minor understatement. Having won the tournament the King and Queen were forced to bestow the title of High Knight upon Nee’lahn, making her, in essence, one of the most influential people in Shadowfell. To try and stop their enemies or Nee’lahn (as the betrayal of Claudette meant that they saw enemies in everyone) using this as an opportunity to usurp them they made Nee’lahn the General of the Queens Vanguard.
Nee’lahn was now a puppet to the will of her parents, forced to rethink her every action for fear of her now extremely paranoid parents thinking she was plotting against them. As her parents launched their attacks on the other Kingdoms Nee’lahn was forced to go along, watching as women and children were cut down without discretion. It took her nearly 50 years to create discipline among her soldiers, it was a long and difficult process but her strong will made it happen.
When she was 87 the first of her siblings was born, Tyrion was a healthy baby boy but from an early age Nee’lahn could see that he was going to be just like their parents. A couple of years passed and her mother once again fell pregnant, this time with a daughter who they named Pandora. Having conquered the two neighbouring Kingdoms Shadowfell was allowed a small window of peace but Nee’lahn knew it wouldn’t last, her parents were too greedy to allow it.
She was right.
As Pandora turned 25 the three siblings led the army to war, the Kingdom quickly surrendered to Shadowfell, hoping to be spared. As Nee’lahn prepared a treaty of surrender her brother execute the King and Queen that had surrendered, when Nee’lahn confronted him she was horrified to discover that her parents had gave the order to execute them.
War was the only thing that Nee’lahn knew (other than her honour and integrity) until she was 200 years old, with all the other Kingdoms now captured by Shadowfell she thought there would be peace but her parents still seen enemies where there were none, civil war after civil war was thought until Nee’lahn began to think that her once peaceful Arcadia would never know peace again.
She was given hope however when her mother gave birth to Millenia who was nothing like her parent or their siblings. Perhaps there was hope for peace. Nee’lahn withdrew from the army for a while, saying that she’d been injured and needed time to recover. Earlier this year a portal opened to her world, she (along with Alucard and her two eldest sibling) were sent to join the Villains in order to claim more land for Arcadia and while her heart isn’t in it she must endure, all the while hoping that someone will save her.
