Overall Personality:
No one would know it from how Noctis acted, but he was shy at heart. He only puts up a cool exterior because he feels that others wouldn't treat him with the respect he deserved unless he showed them he deserved it. Being born into the Caelum Family meant that he had to act according to a certain standard, and even more so the name commanded a high amount of power. Noctis felt that if he didn't show others he had the right to bear such a proud name as his, then his father, and the people who his family rule over would look down on him.
All his life he has hid behind his shell, and more than once it had gotten the young man in trouble. Usually his friends are always there to help him out when situations get dicey, but it doesn't change the fact that Noctis is just a bit too hot headed. However, despite all of Noctis's negative qualities, the man has a heart of purity and he means well. Its just his head hasn't technically matured as fast as his heart has.
Background
Love Interest: Stella Nox Fleuret
Family: King Caelum
Friends: Gladiolus, Ignis, and Prompto
Enemies: none as of yet
History:
Being the Prince of the Caelum Kingdom, Noctis lived a life with people always putting a facade on whenever he was around. Even while he was growing up he didn't know if someone was using him or not, but they always were. Always trying to use him as a means to get into the King's good graces, but as he slowly started to grow up and notice things around him, he knew immediately. No one truly cared for him. It was a harsh reality for a young child to realize and as such he reacted as any normal child would, he lashed out.
Of course, he never did anything violent, but he degraded serfs and others around him. His teachers, maids, and even the guards of the kingdom he just passed off like garbage. This attitude of his continued on, until the day he met Ignis, Gladiolus, and Prompto. Albeit he met them at different times in his life, but it was because of these three men, that Noctis was able to change his ways. They were the first people to show him that they didn't care about what background he came from, but instead liked him for who he was, a hot-headed, cool guy mask wearing, shy kind hearted person.
Afterwards, as Noctis started to mature into his age and into his seat in the kingdom. His father, King Caelum, had decided to make his three friends into his personal bodyguards and escorts. Even with Prompto's juvenile past, he was also allowed to be one of Noctis's guards, along iwth Gladiolus and his strength.. Ignis however took on a more prominent role within the kingdom. Ignis with his keen strategic eye, and vast intelligence, was made into the king's royal strategist.

Caelum Manor. It was a single mansion isolated within the city, and few have ever been inside the manor. The mansion belonged to the Caelum family, who have been charged with protecting this city and its beloved crystal given to them by Etro. For years the family has stood as the crystal's last standing guardian and over time, the Caelums have rose to the occasion and thwarted all attempts to destroy such a precious item. Now a days, war was very scarce, but it didn't stop some people from trying to destroy the crystal. Noctis, was born into the family with a large amount of responsibilities on his shoulders. At the moment his father, King Caelum, is taking the reigns on the day to day business, but Noctis knows sooner or later he would have to take over in his father's stead.
However, Noctis was currently sitting within the manor. He was sitting in his father's chair in the throne room. The King never really cared if Noctis sat in the throne or not. Actually once in the middle of the night, Noctis was sitting in the chair thinking about the future when his father walked in. His father simply asked him if he felt comfortable, only because Noctis would be sitting there sooner or later. This also sparked a conversation between the two men, but at the end of it all Noctis left the room that night as confused as ever.
Noctis was leaning his head against his hand which was being propped up by his arm on the armrest. His eyes simply glanced towards nothing as he tapped his left hand against the other armrest. Now the real question was, Why was Noctis waiting int he throne room? Well, he had called upon his childhood friends and requested that they meet him at the manor. He only did this because he had been thinking about a lot lately. Well, mainly his mind had been focused on what the Goddess Cosmos had asked of him. She wanted him to participate in the upcoming conflict and she even said if he knew anyone else willing to rally to her cause he should ask them as well.
Noctis couldn't think of anyone else to ask, but his three best friends: Ignis, Prompto and Gladiolus. They were the only people in the world he trusted his life with other than his father, and knew that each of them would be able to hold their own amongst a battle. Gladiolus, the brunette who wielded a broadsword like no other Noctis had seen before. Ignis, the calculative mind of the group and skilled at katana's and handguns. However the true crackshot of the group, was Prompto. He and Prompto first met on odd circumstances, but Noctis was able to see the better part of the guy and asked if the charges brought up against him would be dropped. It was a steady beginning to a friendship, but eventually even Prompto started to fit in with the others. He and Gladiolus had a very tight friendship, and even though Ignis is annoyed by Prompto's laid back manner and antics, they none the less get along.
Noctis was deep in thought when one of the servants walked into the thrown room. The servant bowed their head and said to Noctis, "Prince Noctis, the guards at the gate wanted to inform you that your royal guards have arrived at the entrance of the manor." Noctis glanced up over at the servant and gave the middle-aged man a simple nod and said, "Let them in, and tell them I'll be waiting for them here in the throne room." The servant bowed once again and turned to leave, but stopped short of the door to state, "Prince...you look a lot like your father did when he used to sit in your grandfather's throne. Someday sire, it would be an honor to call you king." With that the servant disappeared into the hall and left Noctis alone once again.
Noctis waited for a moment before he scoffed and said to himself, "Like father like son i suppose..." He raised his face upwards and stared up towards the ceiling where a large crystal hovered in mid air. It sparkled with a beautiful shine even though it was kept in such a dimly lit room. As a Caelum, Noctis would someday be charged with the job of protecting this city and its people. He sometimes wondered if he would be fit for the task. It didn't matter. There were other things to attend to, and Cosmos's war would have to be resolved first for him to be King someday.
Noctis reverted his gaze down towards ground level, except this time he kept them locked onto the hall. Sooner or later his friends would come walking into the throne room, and then he would see if the crystal would split for them. If it did then it meant they could travel to different worlds as well, and hopefully they would do it together. Noctis wouldn't admit it openly, but sometimes he needed the strength that the others provided when they were with him.
