History:Angeal was once a respected SOLDIER First Class. He was the prime example of what a SOLDIER operative should be like. With his strict methods and tough love he was an excellent candidate for the mentorship program. He trained many SOLDIER members, in particular Zack Fair. He took pride in his membership of SOLDIER; it was part of what made him for who he was.
One day he along his friends, Sephiroth and Genesis, were sparring in the Virtual Reality Training Room. Angeal watched as Genesis and Sephiroth were taking to the next level, they were coming close to killing each other. He tried to intervene and Genesis got hurt from his SI sword. Afterword, his friendship with Genesis became unstable; the man wanted nothing to do with Angeal. Then a few weeks later Genesis disappeared, he deserted. Angeal didn’t know what to do, he had to find his friend, convince him to come back. To do so he decided to leave ShinRa as well, on a mission in Wuntai ran to the word to start looking for his friend.
When Angeal found out about his origins from Dr. Hollander he fell into a deep depression. He started to despise himself for what he believed he was: a monster. He still chased after Genesis following the man to Banora, trying to reason with the man to no avail. Angeal found his mother dead in her house, she had committed suicide, for Angeal that was the last nail in his coffin. He was about to leave the Buster Sword behind before Zack came in and confronted him.
Angeal wanted nothing more than to stop Genesis from doing what he was doing. He apologized to Zack several times after seeing the boy desperately try to get him back. Angeal knew that there was no going back for him, he created his own suffering. In Modeoheim he faced Zack one last time, it was the last lesson he could teach the boy. He told Zack that he was the perfect monster and absorbed four different creatures to become a monstrous chimera. Where in that moment Zack gave the finishing blow and killed the monster inside of him. He gave Zack the Buster Sword, leaving behind his legacy knowing that the boy would reach his dream and truly become a hero. After which he closed his eyes, letting the Lifestream take him in.
One day he woke up and found himself back in Gaia. Angeal didn't know what was going on, he just fought and is trying to survive. He wants to know the reason of his being on the planet, why he was kicked out of the lifestream. With a new weapon on his back, he felt that his old sword was something he could never touch again. And so he continues to travel, trying to find his reason of being alive once more.

Angeal had his eyes closed as a warm light covered his entire body. This was the first time he felt this warmth, almost like a protective blanket around him. Thoughts filled his mind as each minute passed, memories of the past. Things like who he was and what made him what he is was came and went like a fast simulation. Several memories stuck close to him just long enough to give Angeal a sense of nostalgia before it went. Angeal couldn’t help but feel a twinge of emotion when he saw each and every one.
One of those memories was when he was training Zack in the simulator room. The boy was so full of life; he couldn’t keep still, like a puppy. Angeal let out a small chuckle at the thought of the boy, he had dreams of being a hero. Angeal wanted to make sure that he realized them; he wanted to make sure that he didn’t lose his way. So he trained the boy in body and mind so that one day he will be ready to become a hero. He lectured him about dreams and honor to keep the boy focused on his dream. Angeal felt proud of his student for growing up and taking the mantle after he died.
Another memory passed through him, the VR incident. It was that day that things went downhill for Genesis and himself. It was then that he had come terms with how much he would do for his childhood friend. After Genesis disappeared he felt that he had failed his friend somehow. When he heard rumors about Genesis being in Wuntai he made his choice to bring him back, even if he had to leave Shinra to gain the man’s trust. Angeal didn’t know it at the time that his friend was dying. If he had, would he had done something different? He wondered as that memory left his grasp, allowing a new one to appear.
“Those are wings of an angel.” Those were the words that passed through Angeal as the next set of memories came to him. It was when he and Zack were talking within Sector 5 Plate interior. It was just like Zack to try to get him see the bright side of things. But at the time Angeal thought nothing but what he had become… a monster. Yet now, he came to understand those wings as much as he didn’t wish to. His one wish was to be human, to become the human he was in the past. So desperation he wanted Zack to fight him, to relieve him of his own suffering. When the boy couldn’t, Angeal had to get him away from Genesis and himself. He fired a spell to send him to the slums, safe for the moment.
The last memory was when he became a true monster by right. It was in modeoheim, it was the perfect place to end everything in his broken mind. Zack had defeated Genesis, so it was only the two of them left. Even at that point Zack tried to reason with him, Angeal supposed that Zack was the type who truly saw the good in others. Still at that time he created mayhem of madness in his mind, he caused his own suffering, a spiral of darkness that his inner demons relished. He couldn’t see anything good about himself anymore. That wing on his right side was proof enough. So to force Zack to fight he became the chimera, his penance poured into the creature.
Angeal let out a small sad smile of the thing he done to Zack, the boy who looked up to him. He forced the boy to become his personal executioner, only for his own selfish gain. Angeal left him his burden, the symbol of his honor: The Buster Sword. He knew that Zack could handle it, which was his only consolation before he came to the Lifestream. From there he continued to watch the boy become a true SOLDIER.
The warmth he felt was fading away and with it his body began to feel sore. 'Wait... sore?' Angeal thought as he opened his eyes. He was inside a crater in some sort of desert, his body felt really sore. He sat up and placed his palm on his chest. He could feel his heart beating and his lungs filling up with air before exhaling. His hand trailed down to his abdomen where he could feel a scar on it, probably the one Zack made to defeat him. He pulled himself out of the crater and looked around. He saw that he was in the wastelands just outside of Midgar. He was no longer in the Lifestream, he was alive once more.
Angeal walked forward until he found his way to the edges where Midgar, now Edge stood. Angeal took in the ruin that was once known as ShinRa. He wondered what could have happened to this place, it was now only a fragment of the past, his past. How much time has passed since his death, he looked at the edges where it was more populated.“I have a feeling that I will be able to find answers in the city.” he muttered to himself.
He began to make his way towards the city , where he might be able to get some answers.
