Overall Personality:
Due to the little screen time Lenne has been given, not much is known about her personality. However, it is easy to see that Lenne is a strong willed, caring, and loving person. Her bond with Shuyin proves that she will go to great lengths for love. She proves this with her attempt to save his life and end the war when he attempts to steal Vegnagun. It also shows that she is strong willed when she goes, knowing that it could be dangerous. Another example of her loving nature is shown when the last words she tries to tell Shuyin with her final breaths are, I love you.
Lenne, like Yuna, is a very caring person. She does not want to witness destruction. Although she generally isn’t a fighter, she’ll step up to save what’s important to her. As it’s shown for her songs, Lenne is also a very passionate character. Her pain cuts deep, and she is good at expressing such feelings and heart ache through her music.
Sadly, Lenne’s love could also be considered a major flaw. She rushes in to save Shuyin without a solid plan. She didn’t have an escape route ready, which results in both her and Shuyin’s deaths. If she would have been more patient and quick thinking, they might have had a chance. Love can make her blind.

History:
Lenne's story is crucial to Final Fantasy X-2's plot development, despite having only fourteen lines in total. All that is known about Lenne is her heritage as a summoner, her fame as Zanarkand's most treasured songstress and her romantic bond with a certain blitzball star of her time. During the Zanarkand-Bevelle war, Lenne, being a summoner, was expected to fight in the front lines.
Her lover, Shuyin, set out to steal Bevelle's weapon of mass destruction, Vegnagun, to stop the war and to save his love, but Lenne, having learned of his plan, went after him. She finally caught up with him under Bevelle in Vegnagun's chamber, to try and stop him from operating the war machine. The couple was gunned down by the Bevelle forces and though Lenne tried to tell Shuyin she loved him during her final breath, he never heard her. Lenne and Shuyin died in the assault, but Shuyin's soul lived on and grew bitter and hateful for everything that had been taken away from him.
Lenne's spirit lived on and her memories and feelings present in the pyreflies condensed into a sphere, which Kimahri Ronso finds on Mt. Gagazet a thousand years after her death, and which the Gullwings use as a dressphere, not knowing its true nature as the host of Lenne's spirit. Yuna notices a subtle change in her emotions while wearing the dressphere, and appears to be able to connect to Lenne's lingering memories the way no one else seen wearing the dressphere can. The only other person to notice the link is Maechen, who, when shaking Yuna's hand, appears to recognize Lenne in Yuna's gestures.
While wearing the dressphere, Yuna has a peculiar dream of meeting up with Tidus under Bevelle and being shot by Bevelle forces. When Yuna falls through the hole in the Djose Temple's Chamber of the Fayth to the Farplane, she meets up with Shuyin's spirit, who mistakes her as Lenne due to Yuna wearing Lenne's dressphere. During the encounter Yuna feels a surge of emotions she isn't sure are her own or not. Finally, Lenne's memories manifest in the form of a song Yuna goes on to perform during her concert on the Thunder Plains.
During the concert Lenne is seen briefly during the song "1000 Words" when the power of the Songstress dressphere reacts with Shinra's sphere display, showing Lenne's final memories on the screen. Lenne's spirit is manifested and sings alongside Yuna, although in the original Japanese release Yuna briefly turns into Lenne, instead of Yuna and Lenne performing a duet. This is when the party finally discovers that Lenne's spirit lies dormant inside Yuna's dressphere.
As the party venture deep into the Farplane to stop Shuyin, they first try to trick him by having Yuna wear Lenne's dressphere and impersonate as her. Shuyin can see through the guise and goes berserk with rage. After the party defeats Shuyin in battle Lenne awakens and steps out of Yuna's dressphere to soothe Shuyin. She tells him to rest and thanks Yuna as they both fade away.
How Lenne came back to life~
Deciding that the skills of a summoner would be worthy to the cause of fighting off the villains that trespassed through the different worlds, the scientists and founders of moogle academy used their forbidden magic to revive Lenne from the dead. She, however, has no memory of her life in the after world. When awoken, Lenne just felt as though it was the day after she had told Shuyin they would fade together. With mixed feelings about being alive again, Lenne agreed to join the cause. However, not wanting to live without her lover, she argued every day on the importance of bringing Shuyin back.

Boom! Another explosive dropped out of the sky and hit a tall building on the other side of the street from where the battered songstress was standing. There was hardly any cover left to take at this point. Everything was damaged. Quickly thinking, she dived behind the a large stack of wooden crates stuffed with hay that she couldn‘t believe were still standing. She felt a ray of heat flow over her head and bring sweat down her forehead. She whipped it away before it could get to her brunette eyebrows as she stood up, knees trembling from the pains that were shooting down her legs. She walked out from behind her cover, noticing that those too were now being eaten by the fire. Lenne watched as a few of the citizens fled hollering in the streets, trying to get away from the area. Many had given up at this point, as you could tell by some of the corpses with bullet holes, feeling that there was no escape. Just when Lenne thought she had a moment to suck in the little oxygen that was left in the smoke filled air, there was another loud noise in the distance, which could only mean another bomb had been dropped.
“Where are you?” Lenne spoke in a worried tone, scanning the area for tall, light haired men.
Her lover was no where to be found. They had gotten separated a while back in a massive crowd of people. Lenne tried to go back for him, but flames had engulfed the pathway. Right now, she was looking for another way around. His body had to be giving up just as hers was, which only made her more concerned. After all, they had been trying to fight off the army for hours. How could her beloved city let itself come to this? Many people opposing the newly stated Zanarkand army had fallen, leaving Lenne to witness the horror of watching all of her friends lives perish right before her eyes. They’re wasn’t much hope for a come back. As long as Shuyin was alive, she just couldn’t give up hope. Not yet.
Another air ship was making it’s way toward her current location. Lenne sucked up the pain, and began to run again. All of her summons were long past defeated and useless against the masses of the army. It wasn‘t too far off in the distance that Lenne heard the high pitched screams that sounded like the voice of a young female child. Although it was hard to see through the smoke, she couldn’t have been more then seven. Everyone else was just running past her, trying to save themselves, not caring about whether anyone else was injured. She couldn’t believe how people would just sacrifice others, sometimes their loved ones, in order to save themselves. It wasn’t very human to act with such cold hearts.
Turning her running speed up a notch, Lenne managed to get there just in time to tackle the brunette child down to the ground as another bomb was dropped onto the bakery shop close behind the girl. Lenne managed to cover her from the flames, but she wasn’t able to help herself. A deep serge of pain and agony went through the summoner as the flames scorched her back. She let out a shrieking scream and dropped to her back, rolling to put out the fire before she was burned any worse. She had to force herself to quit coughing. After taking only moments to breathe, she stood herself back up.
“Are you alright?” she asked the little girl, out of breath, gasping for more of the thin air the fire was taking away from them. “Let’s get you out of here.”
Lenne went to pick the young child back up, just as two helicopters circled closer to the ground, dropping off at least a dozen of it’s soldiers. She couldn’t believe this, it was one challenge after another. Although she was already defeated, Lenne picked her summoner’s staff up off the concrete ground from next to the child, and then took her place in front of her. She had to defeat the odds here for the sake of seeing Shuyin again, and for the sake of this child. Her heart was aching, which was the worst pain of all. Shuyin and her withstood one thousand years apart, were put to rest, and revived by the Gods. Yuna had done the impossible by bringing Lenne and her love back so they could finally live a life together. They had all come too far and worked to hard to have it all end here.
”We'll die together again, or not at all!”
That was the only thought on her mind, and she knew it was what was going to get her through this. She took a ready stance.
